So long....

Goodbye, or rather “so long and thanks for all the fish”!! (from the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy).

There are some good creative contributions here from you as a group. Congratulations! I really do hope you keep your blog alive over the next two years, or for even longer, who knows? -creativity – memories – thoughts – comment and opinion.

I wish you all the very best in your next two years. I have enjoyed working with you this year and although the blog was less active than last semester, I hope it may continue to grow with energy, passion and caring.

A concert in Lisbon - not to be missed 23 June CCB

BOOK OF LONGING[Music Theater] American Premiere Composed by Philip GlassSpoleto Festival USA presents the American premiere of Book of Longing, the long-awaited new concert work by Philip Glass, one of the most influential composers of our time, and based on legendary poet and singer Leonard Cohen's recently published poetry collection, his first in over 20 years. The culmination of years of admiration between two of the most celebrated musical artists of their generation, Glass sets Cohen's words – at once playful, erotic, meditative, and singularly provocative – to a new score performed by an ensemble of singers and musicians, drawn from indie rock, classical and new music circles. Glass himself plays keyboard.
At the LX concert Glass is playing solo.
